Appointed by Balfour Beatty, Buckingham Pools restored and refurbished an existing 12-metre basement pool with upgraded features for Amory Tower – a residential development in the urban oasis of Canary Wharf, London. 

Buckingham Pools agreed to step in to run various inspections and conduct tests that had previously failed to locate the leak source in remedying this indoor pool. Upon investigation, our engineers found several leaks, which expanded our scope of work to strip the entire pool back to the concrete surface for re-screeding and re-tiling. To complement Amory Tower’s contemporary interiors across 53 storeys, our Creative Design Manager proposed unique Onyx Aqua Blue Gold Lappato tiles in the 1200 x 600mm format to achieve a spacious and luxurious appeal. To bridge the contrast between the previous pool installer’s existing dark grey tiling on the walls and the Italian Onyx-effect tiles, we incorporated a feature band in wood-effect Etic Rovere Grigio. The pool is well-lit with Certikin PU2 Led White lights with a 316-grade stainless steel body, supplying the required light output. The result is a thoughtfully curated composition synonymous with existing finishes that enhance the ambience.
